The Sixth International Scientific Conference "Exercise and Quality of Life 2024: Global Impact of Sport Science", organized by the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, University of Novi
Sad, Serbia, was held on 11-13 April 2024.

This unique event marked the 50th anniversary of the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education of the University of Novi Sad. The conference gathered eminent scientists fr om more than 50 countries worldwide, including representatives of Lomonosov Moscow University, the Federal Scientific Center for Psychological and Multidisciplinary Research, and the Russian Psychological Society. More than 500 participants attended the opening ceremony:.

  • Zoran Gajić, Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Serbia,
  • Marijana Dukić-Mijatović, State Secretary of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia.
  • Milan Djurić, Mayor of Novi Sad, Republic of Serbia.
  • Dejan Madić, Rector of the University of Novi Sad, Republic of Serbia participated in the opening ceremony.
  • Alexander Veraksa, Head of the Department of Educational Psychology and Pedagogy, Faculty of Psychology, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Education, Doctor of Psychology, Vice-President of the Russian Psychological Society, and Deputy Director of the Federal Research Center for Psychological and Interdisciplinary Research
  • Sergey Leonov, PhD in Psychology, Associate Professor of the Department of Methodology of Psychology, Faculty of Psychology, Lomonosov Moscow State University.
  • Nemanja Lakicevic, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Methodology of Psychology, Faculty of Psychology, Lomonosov Moscow State University.

Alexander Veraksa made a report at the plenary session of the conference, wh ere he spoke about the importance of studying the role of physical activity in the cognitive development of children as one of the key areas of research of the All-Russian longitudinal project "Growing Up Together".

During the panel session "Sport Psychology, Humanities and Social Sciences", Sergey Leonov presented the results of the RSF project dedicated to the use of innovative technologies in the professional training of athletes.

Nemanja Lakicevic spoke about the importance of sports in the development of executive functions in preschool children.

The conference allowed sport scientists from all over the world to discuss fundamental problems of sport sciences, present the new scientific results and share experiences in the field of sport and health sciences, focusing on the role of sport in supporting biological, medical and psychosocial factors for improving the quality of life.
